Aqueduct Race 8 Saturday February 6
It must be February if the "Big A" feature is a $40,000 Allowance. FREUDIAN STORM gets a slight edge here if Chavez can stay close to the expected pace setter, EZZY who is capable of going wire to wire pulling off a mild upset. KING FREUD can get the bronze medal here. With two entries here, there could be scratches so our order of preference is 3-1A-2-1-8.

Golden Gate Fields Race 8 Saturday February 6
You could make a case for about 4 horses in this race.
Fort Funston comes off a win in his last start. He has a fondness for the track. On the Tapeta he has 2 wins and a 2nd place finish. He will be in a good position the whole way. He likes winning and is from a good barn...

Gulfstream Park Race 10 Saturday February 6
THE HOT SHEET pretty much thinks that Quality Road will dominate this field. He has lone speed, class, and if you look at his past performances, he is a pattern horse. In every other race, his Beyer’s numbers are higher even though he won his last race. It is time for his Beyer’s to rise off of the 104 last race. So we just key #4 Quality Road over the #5 Dry Martini, #6 Past The Point and #10 Delightful Kiss, for the exotics...

Turfway Park Race 8 Saturday February 6
Saturday’s 8th race at Turfway Park is a one-mile event featuring older $5,000 claimers which have not won a race in six months. Many handicappers make a serious financial mistake when they barely glance at races like this and go on to spend the majority of their handicapping time on the marquee events around the country. While I feel that maiden races offer the best chance to get a nice price on an easy winner, these “cheap claiming races” often run a close second.
There are several reasons for this, and I’ll briefly touch on just two: A good trip becomes much more important in these races; if a stakes horse is “stopped” during a race, it may quickly get back in gear. If one of these horses runs into traffic trouble, you’ll probably throw some tickets away. A horse may lag behind the field early, swing wide and run by everything in the stretch, or it may be close early and draw out through the stretch, but those which figure to be racing in traffic figure to have problems...
