The Dancing Count Stakes for newly turned 3yo draws a small field of 6. Despite that, I think there is some value in the #3 Cole T.
#1 Turbo Speed is listed as the 8 to 5 ML favorite. After winning his first three, two against Pennsylvania breds, he was sent off at only 7 to 2 in the Count Fleet at Aqueduct. Despite an ideal trip, he hung late. I don't think he has run fast enough to warrant his miserly odds here.
#2 Morumsco had a two race winning streak snapped when he broke poorly in the Maryland Juvenile Championship at the unusual distance of 7.5 furlongs. Both prior wins came in the slop against weak fields and I think he'll have trouble today.
#3 Cole T. broke his maiden is his fifth lifetime effort. He took a lengthy break after trying twice as a very young 2yo. He has come back a stronger and faster horse. I think the NY bred has the ability to beat this stakes field despite just breaking his maiden.
#4 That'sthequestion comes in off a 4.5f win at CT. He has yet to run fast enough to compete with this type and I don't see the extra distance helping. His lone 6f dirt try, in the slop, was dismal.
#5 Our Commander had a three race win streak snapped when running poorly in the aforementioned Count Fleet. He has the ability to compete here as evidenced by his win in the Maryland Juvenile Championship, but I think he is headed the wrong way form wise and will be overbet.
#6 Silver Pioneer ships in after racing at CT six times to begin his career. However, he is too slow to be a factor.
