The whole race is based on the pace. Monterey Jazz has had everything his own way at Hollywood, a harder type of turf course and this guy loves to hear his feet rattle. Also, he has been sent by Tyler and he needs the lead for best. his thorn in his side is Thorn Song with another potential genius on the front end, Mike Smith. My prediction is that Monterey Jazz will take back off Thorn Song, and this turf course will play to early speed inside in the first two weeks or so. If so, Thorn Song could steal it if Tyler falls asleep and gets complacent or have the confidence to go by anytime. It is hard to get by this guy in the lane. Whatsthescript hasn't had the explosion he had last year. Artiste Royal may be the one to watch late. He will be flying. It's Thorn Song's to win and Monterey Jazz to lose. Today's Racing Digest fraction race page, agrees. Thorn Song will open up early and then it's a match race to the wire with Monterey Jazz.
