The 11th race from Calder on August 29th is the $100k Fasig Tipton Turf Dash for two-year-olds traveling a sharp five furlongs on the turf. Only 19% wire jobs at this distance as winning profile favors pace pressers breaking from middle to outer posts. The advanced weather forecast calls for a 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms.
#6 Cruzin With Cash (6-1) crossed the line first in both outings, and he donned the hood and kep the victory 2nd time out. Owns best pace figs and hails from 50% jockey/trainer team. Sports a local turf work and dam has tossed a turf winner.
#7 Tudor (5-1) is out of 16% first grass sire Untuttable, and Milton Wolfson is 36% first turf. Reunites with winning pilot and might enjoy surface switch.
#9 Girl Bar (3-1) sports a pair of local turf works for 20% first grass barn. Returning filly is bred to sprint on the lawn and could beat the gents.
#5 Gesu (5-2) was an even 4th versus similar main track foes last time. Stalker hails from profitable 15% first turf barn.
#3 Overtown (8-1) earned diploma in the slop 2nd time out, but he does not have the breeding to threaten these on the sod.
#8 Concorde's Fury (8-1) showed marked improvement with blinkers in 2nd time out graduation party. Barn only 3% first grass, so I'll let him beat me today.
#2 Full Horse Power (8-1) earned decent speed rating in wire job maiden score 2nd time out. Meets other quality speed and does not have a strong turf pedigree.
#1 Retire To What (15-1) donned the hood and rolled in local maiden claimer on Aug. 6th. New barn places him in a tough spot. He figures to push the pace from the rail before tiring.
#4 Sharkbait Ooh Haha (20-1) has yet to make a dent in the maiden ranks, and this is an ambitious spot for the maiden. Sire 17% first turf, but I cannot see him anything more than a brief pace player.
The Plays: #6 to win, Exacta box 6-7, Trifecta 6-7/5-6-7-9/5-6-7-9
