Calder's 11th race is a Starter Allowance for 3 year olds and up at a mile and a sixteenth on the main turf track. There are no sex restrictions, but there are no fillies/mares entered. For those of you not familiar with Starter Allowances, this is a race classification created a few years ago as a hybrid of a low end, typically, allowance and a claiming race. Entries either meet the "allowance" criteria or may be claimed for the designated claiming value. We didn't note any entries in this race up for claim.

 

 

UNTUTTABLE AFFAIR (#5 at $4.00 morning line) has the speed and class to win this one.

 

STRAIGHT MONEY MAN (#9 at $6.00 morning line) has proven speed at this distance, but has performed poorly on turf so far.

 

TOO MANY TOYZ (#11 at $2.50) is the probable race favorite coming off of a 4 length win last time out at this distance on dirt, but hasn't run on turf in recent memory.

 

ROCK LOBSTER (#6 at $10.00 morning line) is our long shot choice. Well rested and running 3 pounds light, is used to much better competition.
