Aqueduct Race 9 Saturday January 30
|
Updated: Jan-29-2010 Created: Jan-29-2010
#2 - TOCCO D'ORO - 3-1 This 3 year old New York State bred colt is a Super Value Win Bet (SV) with a Trackpro Value Rating at a solid 1.94. He got beat as the favorite last race but has worked a breezing four (4) furlongs since his last race on January 6th, 2010 at Aqueduct. Trainer Bruce Levine is giving him another try at the same class level and distance and we think he should be able to break his maiden this afternoon as the probable favorite or strong 2nd choice.
#5 - STYLISH FELLA - 6-1 Gets 2nd life time start after improving position to finish 4th at Aqueduct on January 14th. He went off at almost 3-1 odds last race and earned a competitive but not strong speed figure in that event. Trainer is dropping this colt down two class levels in an attempt to improve his chances. However, the Trackpro Value Rating (TPV) at .91 is not high enough for us to consider a win wager even though the morning line is at 6-1. However he should be used in the exotics especially the superfecta in our opinion.
#13 - CENTRAL RED RAIDER - 8-1 This colt breaks from the outside #13 post and broke slowly last race which we hope will not be the case this afternoon. He did manage to run into contention in the stretch after running wide so he does have potential for improvement stretching out an extra furlong with no class change. His morning line at 8-1 is considerably below the astronomical 40-1 off odds last race but once again with a Trackpro Value Rating (TPV) below one at .71 we would not bet this colt to win. We note however that if he finishes anywhere near the money the exotic payoffs could be huge. We doubt many bettors will wager on this colt after his poor break last start and outside post.
#11 - KILL THE JOKER - 4-1 This 3 year old colt got checked at the break and then was outrun last race finishing 8th. However in his prior race he ran on the pace finishing 2nd for a $20,000 maiden claiming price. We would not wager on him to win but he certainly is eligible to improve with a more favorable start this race. Since this colt is moving down two plus class levels we think he should be considered for inclusion on all exotic wagers but we are concerned there has been no workout in two weeks.
