Weather report giving us positive signals for a beautiful day at Belmont. Most intriguing race on the day for me is Race #6. LEMME is the price attraction at her 20-1 morning line. I liked what I saw from this girl in her debut. Castro purposefully took her back to last right out of the gate. After a furlong this girl was into the bit and eager to move closer. Castro kept her on the anchor until just before the turn. At that point she made an eye catching move in traffic on the turn to be within striking distance of the leaders. In the stretch it was simply a combination of inexperience and fitness that kept her from being a lot closer. With that all important first race under her belt, I think she is eligible to take a big step forward. TRIP NOTES from yesterday: DOMINANT JEANNES did not get the exact trip I was hoping for but I don't think it would have mattered because Rogue Victory would have probably proved too classy either way. It is a pet peeve of mind when riders try to slow down the pace on a horse like DOMINANT JEANNES. In my mind that eliminates his biggest asset. I would rather see them turn the reins loose and try a legitimate theft. Open up a big lead at a comfortable pace instead of taking a hold and zapping early energy. DOMINANT dug in gamely after being headed in the stretch to get second money.
