Case The Race - Handicapping data and information

BELMONT, MAY 13 FRIDAY

Another day calling for dry weather which means the grass races should be all good.  Race #4 draws my attention as one of the better gambling races on the card.

LITTLE REYA was sent off at 76-1 in her first grass start last time.  She outran those long shot odds in a big way.  Despite not finding a comfortable stride for at least the first quarter mile, she was able to gradually find her rhythm in the late stages.  The final furlong she was coming by far the best in the race.  The idea here is that instead of being curious about the ground beneath her like she was last time, today she will be comfortable from the opening bell.  That could lead to huge improvement at a fair number.  I see her main rivals as:  FREUD'S DREAM (bad trip in last) and MAGIC CITY MAMA.

TRIP NOTES from yesterday:  KEECHI BULLET had to settle for second behind AMERICAN CLASSIC.  After watching the race a couple of times I am convinced KEECHI could have won with a more aggressive ride.  I thought Dominguez took the run out of her early when gradually gearing her from the front group to the back group through the opening three furlongs.  This left KEECHI with too much to do in the stretch.  She gave a good effort.
