SCENIC BLAST - Race 7 Hollywood Park

I was surprised to see Scenic entered in a race so quickly. He has not been put through many serious drills. Not sure how cranked he can be? He obviously had some issues with bleeding which is why he has been sent over here. Lasix immediately applied. My gut instinct tells me the connections want to get a race under his belt and hopefully target some races during Del Mar. Can I see him winning? Absolutely. I think this gelding has a ton of talent. But, with the aforementioned negatives in mind, and the paltry 5-2 morning line (shockingly low), I can't think about making a serious win wager on him unless Scenic becomes a massive overlay. I would want $20 on the win end. The reason I am so picky on price is the fact that there are simply too many unknowns with this horse. I will be using him in my Pick 6 and Pick 4.

The race as a whole looks wide open. Unzip Me is the horse to beat. I think the result of the race could be determined out of the gate. The only two runners that can test Unzip Me early are My Summer Slew and Stoneside. If Quinonez or Pedroza get aggressive out of the blocks, then the shape of the race changes completely. If Unzip Me is left alone early, we have already seen what she is capable of. There is no runner in this race that would surprise on the win end.
