Had the chance to hang out at Hollywood Park on Sunday. Zenyatta found a way to get the job done over an incredibly game performance by St. Trinians. I strongly urge anybody out there to find a way to get out to the track next time Zenyatta runs. We will never see anything like her again. The amount of energy she creates in the crowd when she puts in her patented late run is goose bump stuff. She is a perfect example that horse racing at its core is not about winning a gamble. I have made some nice scores in my short gambling career. The feeling I get when watching her win is one that can't be touched by any superficial gambling score. Jerry Hollendorfer has already unveiled a couple of impressive two year old winners. Given Episode (two year old filly) and Western Mood (two year old colt). I do not think he is finished yet. There are a couple more babies that have been impressing working over the Hollywood track. Indian Gracey and Indian Winter. Indian Gracey is a two year old filly by Indian Ocean. Indian Winter is a two year old colt by Indian Charlie. Both have been dominating in team drills. Indian Gracey worked in a group of four from the blocks on June 6th. Displaying a classy manner while always traveling best. She has not done anything overly flashy on the clock but I like the visual impression she is leaving. The other two year old, Indian Winter, has been incredibly flashy. He boat raced a trio of competitors in a drill from the gate on June 6th. And he did it in style, ripping through serious fractions of 23.40, 34.00, 46.40. He returned to easily handle a work-mate this past Friday. Bejarano was on board for both of those drills. Will check back in later with some further thoughts on workout horses that I discussed during the last half of May.
