'BLIND LUCK turned in her final drill prior to the Kentucky Oaks today over a newly waxed Hollywood Park cushion. The recent wax-job has definitely brought some extra bounce to the track. Especially the stretch. And BLIND LUCK certainly took advantage of that extra life today when she demonstrated her eye gouging ability to accelerate. The final clocking on my watch read 1:15.00. That can be extremely misleading if you did not see how this work unfolded. In the early stages Blind Luck was basically in a relaxed jogging tempo. I had her to the top in a pedestrian 40.40. In the stretch she began to get serious. At the wire the clock read 1:04.00. Then we had some fireworks. To say she responded to pressure would be a drastic understatment. Blind Luck did her best impersonation of a popped cork and ran out the final furlong in a cartoonish 11.00! I had to do a triple take when looking down at my watch, while also catching her going out seven in 1:27.60 and a mile in 1:40.80. Scary good.'
