Case The Race - Handicapping data and information

Hollywood Park Opening Day

Opening day Hollywood Park - Horses of Interest

Race 1: Belleofthebridle - Little filly from the Solis barn sure acts like she should run a good one right out of the blocks. Solis throws her in with the boys.

Race 3: El Indy - Gigantic gelding has been churning out solid a.m. drills since dubious effort at 1-1/2miles in last try. If he does not show up today he will probably be dropped to the bottom level.

Race 5: Maybe the most interesting race on the card. I have notes from Toby that Brookie Girl is training huge since logging her second straight win. Laura's Pleasure ran a much better than looked fourth against the very talented Tanda in early March. Her a.m. activity has always been positive. Surfer Girl is a logical contender from the barn of our favorite owner Jim Rome. Terrify guarantees an honest pace on the front end.

Race 7: Big Man Has a Sign cuts back in distance after a decent try at two turns. I have only seen this gelding train once and it was his most recent drill over the Hollywood cushion on April 15th. He is a flashy morning traveler. No question in my mind he wants to sprint. Looks like a major player on the cut-back.

Race 8: Mostro Marino did not run a step in his debut. The notes I have received from Toby say he is much better than that ugly debut would suggest. In a race that comes up wide open, he is a gelding that seems to me like a must use. Goshawk is the deserving favorite on the huge drop in class. Please paste your article here, or just start writing!
