Race 10 - Caressing Handicap Check the Label (#9) - Three races back, she ran in Stakes company that was taken off the turf & she did rather badly; badly enough that her connections will probably skip any dirt races in the near future. After a two month layoff she ran back on the turf but lost all chance of winning by running 4 or 5 wide into the stretch. Her last race she benefited from a great inside trip by Leparoux and she ran away from the rest. Today she’ll have to make due with Saez; but given she gets a good trip, I see no reason why she shouldn’t repeat her last and score a back to back victory. Lisa’s Kitten (#10) - How can any handicapper ignore any off-spring of Kitten’s Joy on the turf? What is surprising that she won a Stakes race on the turf in October with a great closing kick after being blocked at the quarter pole; but then her next race although it looks awful in the form (finishing 10th); she ran a lifetime best turf figure. She will be tough to beat. Tidal Pool (#3) - In turf handicapping I usually like to throw in a 1st timer on the grass, that either has the extraordinary breeding , or as in this case a betting line that might produce a forward move no matter what the surface. Her very 1st race was her lifetime top. Since then she has tailed off but is now circling back to her best. Her breeding for turf is only fair but with this group; extraordinary is not needed. My play is a WPS bet on #9; with a 3 horse Ex Box (3,9,10)
