By Randy Giles Without early pace scratches the morning favorite (2/1), Mr. Nightlinger (#2), should face a fast pace and a crowded first tier. Having never won while racing more that ½ length off the pace at the second call, this one gets the call for underlay of day. No other early pace type in this match-up has recorded a competitive speed figure for the competition so we’ll move to the next tier, which ends up as a no go as well. This leaves the race to the two presser/closers: Due Date (ML 7/2) and Fort Prado (ML 5/1). The smart bet is always the best odds horse of the contenders so Fort Prado it is to coming running at the end for the win.
