By Ross Gallo SPIRIT SEEKER and EXCLUSIVE WOMAN have met four times since July 16th with SEEKER getting the better of her opponent three of the four. However, EXCLUSIVE WOMAN beat her on the square three back and off of a tough trip. SEEKER got first run on her last time, but the jock wrapped up on E.W. when he saw he wasn't going to get her and easily was second. Also, with E.W. you get entry mate GLOTONA who ran a tenacious second last out nearly eight clear of the third horse. Plus, SPIRIT SEEKER will be odds on with white-hot apprentice Luis Saez, while the entry should be in the 3 to 4-1 range. Will key the better value here, the 1. Will pitch the 5 SILK RIDGE, tons of layoffs, hasn't hit an exacta in two years. The 2 PASSAGE OF TIME ran huge first on the main around two turns, but it came in the slop. Broke her maiden at first asking on a similar surface, watch the skies for her inclusion. Few trainers sharper than Marty Wolfson, but the 4 SEASIDE AFFAIR is running off a four month+ layoff and that race came off of a nineteen month layoff. Has speed, and aired the last time she ran two turns on conventional dirt, but that was January of '07. Still, speed and dangerous trainer make me uneasy. Finally, 6 CAT CAN DO loves the track and gets the returning Eibar Coa who dominates at Calder. Frequent layoffs and suspect form, but would be no surprise. This could be an ice 1-3 or the box, but you won't be retiring off of that. 1-6 may offer some value, and 1 with 4,2 could easily save your bet or better. ---- Ross Gallo has been a professional handicapper for over 25 years and avid tournament player since 1998.
