By Kevin Stafford What a difference a year makes! Last year Broadway Producer and Rhythmn Master both make quite a bit of sense here, but won't offer a ton of value on the tote board. Call me crazy, but I'm searching for a price in this race - and have landed on Regal Solo. The son of Louis Quatorze was claimed by trainer Damon Dilodovico following his victory in an optional claiming race last out. Note that Dilodovico is a whopping 53% in races 1st off the claim according to recent trainer stats. Moreover, he's done this before, having prevailed in 4 of the previous 23 runnings of the Maryland Million Classic - each time with a horse fresh off the claim. I'll play #6 Regal Solo for the win at 6/1. Underneath I'll add in #1 Broadway Producer and #8 Rhythmn Master, and #2 Selections: Win - #6 Regal Solo Exacta - 6/ 1, 2, 8 Trifecta - 6/ 1, 2, 8/ 1, 2, 8, 10 ---- By Kevin Stafford - www.theaspiringhorseplayer.com |
