One of the first things I like to do when looking at a race is to try and get a handle on the race shape to see if any particular running style will have an advantage. With the exception of Dehere Again (who we know little about), the rest of the horses in this race like to do their best running from off the pace.

I think this scenario bodes well for Guns On The Table who has speed and just may find himself out on a lonely lead. He is training extremely well for this as is evidenced by the long string of bullet works. In addition, he has a touch of class as he battled the likes of Bob Black Jack to the stretch in the Malibu-G1 and held on well.

Dehere Again should also be given a close look because of his connections. Mitchell is proficient at knowing where to place his U.S. shippers. He has given Gryder some live mounts and Gryder opts for this one over contender Northern Soldier.

And let’s not forget about the ageless Siren Lure who ships down from Golden Gate following a bullet 4f workout on 5/9/09. He is very sharp right now, loves this 6f distance and Hollywood Park. The connections feel now is the time to take a shot, and I agree.
