On Track
The most common place to bet is at the racetrack itself. When you place a bet at a racetrack, it is assumed that unless you state a different track, you are betting on the races offered there. Betting at the track gives you the advantage of seeing the horses warming up first hand.
Off Track Betting
Although off track betting locations are declining in popularity, you can still find them around the country. These venues mimic racetracks with programs, tip sheets, and Daily Racing Forms, as well as countless simulcast screens and an uninterrupted supply of races to watch and wager on, with the only difference being that no live racing is conducted at the site.
TV
HRTV and TVG are the two cable networks that allow betting, either online or by phone. If you subscribe to either of these channels, you can watch live coverage at most tracks and bet in real time from the comfort of your own home.
Online
You can also bet over the internet with sites such as XpressBet.com and YouBet.com.
