Saturday's running of the Shine Again at Pimlico may have drawn a small field, but it's an intriguing field to ponder nonetheless. Several of the horses entered have shown a front running preference when routing on the dirt, including #2 Four Karats, #3 Five Diamonds, and #5 Silent Diva.
This should set things up nice for the pace-pressing favorite, #4 Amie's Legend, who is stepping way up in class for trainer Graham Motion from the $17k optional claiming ranks. That move would seem to suggest a world of confidence on Motion's part, and this looks like a great place to get the 4-year-old chestnut daughter of Not For Love (Mr. Prospector)her first stakes win.
Underneath, I like #6 Eye, who should be coming from off the pace and won an undercard stakes last Friday. She's also won on short layoffs before, as evidenced by her victory to begin 2009 on 1/10/09.
For the trifecta, the field is small enough that you should probably cover the rest on the bottom of the ticket.
