Saturday should be a great day of racing at Golden Gate Fields highlighted by the Grade 3 $150,000 El Camino Real Derby for 3 year olds.
I like Connemara, trained by Todd Pletcher, who is making his 4th carrer start after finishing 2nd last out in the California Derby. He has 2 wins and a 2nd in 3 lifetime starts. Leading rider Russell Baze stays with Connemara and he got to know him last time which should help him this time out.
My second choice is Ranger Heartley who beat Connemara by 3 quarters of a length in the Cal Derby. He is the speed in this race and should get the lead. With 4 wins and a third in 9 races I feel he either goes gate to wire or goes off the board.
Haimish Hy really catches the eye physically. He might be a better turf horse with 2 wins over the turf but I would include him in the tri.
