EMPIRE OF THE SUN - Definite improvement when breaking maiden in second start. Good gate quickness to clear field early. Unfortunately I don't think that effort will stand up in this field. Would surprise.
DECATUR ISLAND - Probably has the most room for improvement of any horse in the field. Sizable gray did everything wrong in debut. He spotted the field a head start. Rushed up while stuck four wide every step of the turn. Flattened out in the lane while slow to switch leads. Value in the exotics.
BALL BEARING - Needs a radical form reversal. Would surprise.
LITTLE BUD BUD - The horse he held off in his debut has yet to win. His quickness is useful but I have a hard time envisioning him holding for five furlongs. Would surprise.
CAHILL COUNTRY - Is a colt that should continue to improve with racing. But today he has too much catch up to do. Exotics player.
SMILING COUNTRY - Big colt had no clue what he was doing but he still won by daylight. I think he is very beatable today. I was not overly impressed with his gate speed. He could get in traffic trouble today. Major player.
SWEET TIGER - Has never been a horse to wow while working at Hollywood. Does appear to have a race horse mentality. Exotics player.
ROOS ON THE LOOSE - Comes out of the fastest race by far. I liked the way this colt kept to his task despite being unable to keep pace with a very fast O'Neill trainee. Horse to beat.
ERIN'S CAJUN - Appreciated the way this colt won despite the poor trip in debut. Broke poorly which led to him getting squeezed back early. He did not get a clear trip until a sixteenth into the race. Rallied with purpose for the win. Exotics player.
HETCH - Big time quickness on display in debut. Unfortunately the gelding had no clue what his job was in the stretch. He lugged in a few lanes while looking into the stands. This led to him getting run down. Possible pace presence. Would surprise.
WAGERING STRATEGY ($100 bankroll)
Sometimes races do not offer enough intrigue on the gambling side. I don't see much value to be had in here. I will pass.
LAST WEEK RESULTS: Loss of $100.00
