Golden Gate Fields December 26 Race 3
Race Analysis GG Dec-26 Race 3
The third race on Saturday is an interesting heat in which we feel the favorite is a vulnerable one. Most of these horses are in for the $5000 price tag because the $4000 race in the book did not fill. With the shortage of horses today in California, there is no class difference between 4000 and 5000 claiming horses. Whichever field the Racing Secretary can put together with at least 6 entries is the race which they use. Here’s how we see the race from the rail out.
Big Wave Rider is the morning line favorite and should go off as the post time favorite in this race based on his recent numbers. However, he recently changed barns from a high percentage one to a very low percentage one and we feel this makes the “Rider” a vulnerable favorite. The former trainer uses every drug possible to get maximum performance all the while knowing each race could be this horses’s last. While the new barn is squeaky clean and we see a drop off in performance because of that fact...

Supersecretdevice is our selection. He was just recently reclaimed by the Jenda barn and that is a good thing. He was much closer to the pace in his last start because of the slow pace, but still finished well for 9 furlongs. There is sufficient pace for him to run at today and he will return to his preferred style of running. Anything at 8/5 or better and he is a play, and with a 7/2 morning line, the price should be square. A 3/7 exacta box would yield a very nice return in this race.
