At Churchill Downs, Saturday's 10th race is the $100,000 Matt Winn Stakes for 3 year olds racing a distance of 7 furlongs. The 6/5 morning line favorite is Joseph Rauch and David Zell's Capt. Candyman Can, who is coming off a huge win in the Grade III Bayshore Stakes at Aqueduct in New York on April 4. Veteran rider Javier Castellano will once again be aboard for conditioner Ian Wilkes, who is off to a flying start at the Churchill Downs meeting, having saddled 3 winners 3 place horses and 3 show horses in just 12 starts.
Taking a look at the rest of the field: Zigaree drew the inside post after running 4th in the Inaugural Handicap at Evangeline Downs in Louisisana on April 10. Dance Caller won his most recent start at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas on April 11, a 2 turn score in wire-to-wire fashion. Cash Refund is the 8/5 second choice on morning line maker Mike Battaglia's line after a sharp win over the Churchill oval with restricted allowance company on April 25. Rounding out the field is Conchacer, winner of his last 2 races earlier this spring at Tampa Bay Downs in Florida.
