My choices are based on One Minute Handicapper (OMH) betting situations. These are my selections and the associated betting situations:
GOZZIP GIRL (#4)
1) Drop In Company from G1 Alabama finished a fast closing 2nd despite stumbling at break.
2) Troubled Trip. Stumbled at start.
3) Favorable Jockey. Keith Desormeau aboard in first win in Stakes Company.
4) Preferred Distance. Only winner at distance in race.
5) Jockey/Trainer Combo. 40% at Belmont. 38% all tracks.
6) Trainer Stats. 26% in Graded Stakes races.
7) 3 wins in 4 turf starts. Disqualified for drifting while on lead in only out of money turf start.
Magical Affair (#7)
1) Troubled Trip. Finished fast closing 2nd despite knocked off stride at start.
2) Jockey. Leparoux rides 3rd consecutive race. 2 wins and 2nd in 3 starts since taking mount.
3) 3) Jockey/Trainer Combo 27% all tracks in 2008 and 2009.
4) 2 wins and a 2nd in 3 turf starts. 2 wins and 3 seconds in 5 lifetime starts.
5) Workout. Bullet work on May 23rd.
6) Wet to Dry. 2 wins on Firm (dry) Turf. Place finished on Good Turf .Firm Track predicted.
7) Well Meant Baby. 2007 Yearling purchase for $1,550,000.
Bluegrass Princess (#1)
1) Troubled Trip. Won last by despite bumped at start
2) Jockey. JR Velaquez stays for 3rd consecutive race. A win and a 3rd in previous 2 mounts.
3) Jockey /Trainer Combo 21% 2008 and 2009 all tracks.
4) Trainer Stats .McLaughlin 20% or better in all 6 categories listed.
5) Workout. Bullet work on April 25th. Last race was April 11th.
6) Preferred Track. 3rd place finish on turf in only Belmont start.
7) Preferred Distance. A fast closing 3rd in only start at distance.
8) Three 3rd place finishes in 3 turf starts.
