Now a fifty something practicing curmudgeon, I first fell for racing and handicapping at the short-lived (as far as horses are concerned) Birmingham Turf Club when I would regularly make the 120 mile trek from Atlanta to Birmingham for a day at the races. Moved to South Florida in 1991 for a career opportunity and bought a house strategically placed between Calder Race Course and Gulfstream Park.
