I realize I am way behind on my bullet point updates. I have a goal for the rest of this month. Each day I am going to discuss my favorite worker of the morning. It will give all of us a chance to fill our horses to watch list and maybe even land on a decent price somewhere down the line.

Tuesday May 11: IVORY FUDGE

Has been working with a high octane energy level for the last couple of weeks. Today he turned in a spirited blowout. The splits on my watch read - 12.60, 35.00, 46.60 - which means he came home the final three furlongs in a blistering 22.40, 34.00. He wants to run. Always love when a horse is enjoying the job.

Monday May 10: VICTORY PETE & ZILARATOR

Had to talk about both Zilarator and Victory Pete. Zilarator is a little colt from the Bob Baffert barn that is all heart. A little gamer that will lay it down and give his best. He ended up breaking behind accomplished stakes runner Victory Pete at the five furlong pole. Victory was already a furlong into his six furlong drill at that point. This gave Zilarator a nice target to run after, which led to a fast five furlong clocking in 59.80. He started over a second behind Victory and was within a length by the time they hit the wire. The most interesting part of this drill was on the gallop out after the wire. Little Zilarator galloped out great. In lock step with Victory. Had to appreciate how these two came together. Victory Pete in simple fitness building mode, and Zilarator seriously tightening the screws with a stiff five panels. For those that want my splits on Victory. I had him in 24.80, 37.20, 49.40, 1:13.60 (to the wire), out 1:26.00. Zilarator ran out in 1:12.00.

Honorable mention goes to Monterey Jazz. I lovingly refer to him as the "Executioner". When he is on his game he will drag the rider around the track in the mornings. Today he was on his game. Water ski mode.
