Both Conveyance and Awesome Act had their final preps over another sloppy track at Churchill Downs. The track wasn't to the liking of Mr Dutrow as he said as boring a decision as it is he thought it would be wise to wait for a better surface to work Homeboykris who appears likely now for the Derby. However, you would never know the surface was off based on the way Conveyance gathered steam to get a 59.3 clocking after a slowish opening 1/8. Real nice work but the bottom line on the big gray is going wire to wire with all the speed signed up and the fact that a 1 1/4 mile distance doesn't seem optimum to his mechanics.

Awesome Act went strong in a team drill with stakes winning Peace Town making up a couple lengths under J Leparoux while rallying on the outside of his mate. He was hitting on a dime and leveled out on cue without his trainer on the grounds yet as J Noseda was a victim of the volcanic ash situation stalling his arrival to Louisville. Not to worry, the big red colt looks fit and ready for the big dance.

We might have 2 final workers tomorrow as Endorsement and Homeboykris are set to do something on Wed. The Oaks looks like a dandy of a race on top of an outstanding 12 race card Friday that includes the return of "The Queen" Rachel Alexandra on the undercard.
